Child Care Survey for Families & Community Partners

Christina Cortez-Bannick

Dear Community Partners and Yamhill County Families,

Even before COVID-19 arrived on the scene, Yamhill County was considered a childcare desert. According to a 2019 study out by OSU, only 16% of our children age 0-5 had access to a regulated childcare slot. Now, over 4,000 children from kindergarten through 5th grade are also in need of care while our schools are engaged in distance learning. The need is great – and we need to work together to find solutions, both for family wellbeing and for the economic viability of our community.

Yamhill County, Yamhill CCO and its Early Learning Hub, and Child Care Resource & Referral have contracted with Pacific Research & Evaluation to conduct a compressed childcare feasibility study to inform expansion planning over the next few months. We need your help sharing this information as widely as possible so that we can get an accurate pictures of the needs and resources that are available in our community.

Families, please fill out the survey by clicking the links below.

Community Partners, please distribute the family survey in English and Spanish widely to your employees and your networks:

  • Complete the family survey now!
  • ¡Complete la encuesta familiar ahora!

If you are an employer, please complete the business survey, but only once per agency, please:

  • Complete the business survey now!
  • ¡Complete la encuesta de empresas ahora!

The survey will remain open until 5 pm Thursday, September 20, 2020, and the first 2000 respondents will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card as a thank you for their time.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jenn Richter, Early Learning Program Manager, at (503)376-7421 or email jrichter@yamhillcco.org.
