McMinnville, Ore. – On Friday, October 10, Yamhill Community Care (YCCO) hosted Bridging Behavioral Health Support for Young Children, a one-day workshop focused on supporting the behavioral health needs of children from infancy through third grade.

Held at the McMinnville Grand Ballroom, the event brought together more than 100 educators, primary care and behavioral health providers, and home visiting professionals from across the region. Attendees explored practical tools, resources, and strategies to better understand and respond to the behavioral health needs of young children.

The event aligned with World Mental Health Day and Health Literacy Month, highlighting YCCO’s ongoing commitment to improving access to behavioral health services and supporting early childhood development.

“Access to early behavioral health support is essential for the well-being of young children and their families,” said Jenn Laine, YCCO Early Learning Hub Director. “By bringing together professionals who work with children every day, we are helping build a stronger, more supportive coordination of care for families in our community.”

Participants received continuing education credit to enhance their education and training, supporting Oregon’s efforts to meet new social and emotional metrics aimed at improving health outcomes in later life.
